Luss Parish Church (St Kessog's)
Major Find at Site in September 2002

At the end of a long term project, while carrying out of final works at this Scheduled Ancient Monument Site, there has been a major archaeological find with the discovery of a new hidden historic gravestone. This is thought to date from 12th Century. Throughout all the phases of building conservation and repair works it has been a requirement to have an Archaeological input as part of the watching brief.

As quantity surveyors for the project the incorporation of all the special  Statutory requirements has bee a challenging and interesting side to the project. Also involved were the exhumation of human remains which is a very specialised field.

It is hoped that, following further research by specialists, more information on this important "find" can be featured in our Website
